Hello, I'm Noora, the founder of Nookini. My love for bikinis has been with me my whole life – as an avid traveler and sports enthusiast, I always felt especially comfortable in beautiful bikinis. However, in Switzerland, it was always difficult to find stylish and high-quality bikinis. Orders from abroad often ended in frustration: the fit wasn't right, high customs fees were incurred, and returns were usually impossible.
The Beginning in Bali
In 2019, I traveled to Bali for the first time, and I immediately fell in love with the island's beauty and culture. This trip rekindled my creative side. Back in Switzerland, I was working in the insurance industry when I met a client who wanted to start a yoga brand. Together, we brought her vision to life – and that's how I found my way into the fashion world.
The Founding of Nookini
In 2021, I took the plunge and founded my own brand. My journey led me back to Bali, where I began to build Nookini from the ground up with two local families. First, we designed bikinis, then we expanded our range to include cover-ups and other clothing items. It was an intense learning process, and the first designs were a disappointment – we hadn't yet found the right cuts for women. After a year of hard work and refinement, we finally developed the perfect fit.
Our Bikinis: Comfort and Style Combined
Today, we are proud of our bikinis, which not only look beautiful but are also double-layered. This means: no pads, no transparency – just pure comfort. Frequent feedback from our customers is that the bikinis are so comfortable to wear that you hardly notice if the top slips!
Expansion: Swim Trunks and Clothing
In 2023, we expanded our collection to include swim trunks for men, often color-coordinated or with prints matching the bikinis. This way, you can shine on the beach in a matching look! Our next big project, which we have been working on since 2024, includes a linen collection for men and women, as well as beach dresses for women. Another highlight will be our children's beachwear.
